If you are working with a document and have Acrobat, you should be able to “capture” the text in the image file that you have imported into a PDF. The capture process is Adobe’s OCR application and it allows the image to be rendered as offendingccommand, which usually looks better and results in a smaller file. You may want to check the adobe site, or do a google for a free program that creates PDF files as well as acrobat 5. I believe that in acrobat 6 standard the problems were pretty much fixed I don’t know what the error message means, but you might able to find out on the Adobe site.

Also, if you can open a new Word doc and type one word and then save it as a PDF it would eliminate any problems with Adobe itself.
